Among reports recently generated by the Conway Police Department:
1. Commercial burglary at 924 Front St. (Baker Drug Store). Someone gained entry to the store at some point before Monday morning by breaking a rear window and rummaged through a cabinet containing bottles of Methadone. A worker at the store told police he was unsure if anything had actually been stolen and that the business would conduct an inventory.
2. DWI at Highway 64 and Veteran's Drive. A man was found to be at fault for an accident Monday afternoon when he failed to yield for an oncoming car as he turned left onto Veteran's Drive. Police investigating the accident arrested the at-fault driver, Brian Neil Gay, 40, 146 Waterfront Cove, Conway according to a CPD incident report, on suspicion of third-offense DWI.
3. Possession of a controlled substance at 900 block of Locust Street. An officer stopped a vehicle at about 1 p.m. Nov. 11 for a non-functional brake light. Observing suspicious activity from the driver, the officer asked for and obtained permission to search the vehicle. The driver, Kristen Stobaugh, 35, 3100 Dogwood Trail, Conway according to a CPD incident report, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance after suspected crack cocaine was found in her purse and an aluminum can modified to serve as a smoking device found in her vehicle's center console. Stobaugh later told police that she had smoked crack earlier in the day and was heading to work at her Harkrider Street office.
4. Criminal mischief at 10 block of Shady Valley Drive. A Conway man told police that he answered his doorbell at about 10:45 Tuesday night to find what was described as "a small box on fire" in his walkway. After extinguishing the fire, the man noticed more than 50 white plastic forks had been inserted into his lawn.
