Dr. Milic Capek
Dr. Milic Capek, 88, of Little Rock, father of Dr. Stella M. Capek of Conway, died Monday (Nov. 17, 1997).
He was a professor of philosophy at Boston University.
He is also survived by his wife of 50 years, Stephanie Capek.
Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Huson Funeral Home in Little Rock, with the Rev. Jon Guthrie officiating.
Louise Vernell Smith
Louise Vernell Smith, 77, of Vilonia died Tuesday (Nov. 18, 1997) at her home.
Born Dec. 18, 1919, she was a daughter of Calvin and Vinnie Ryan Gray.
Survivors include a daughter, Janice Burgess of Vilonia; three brothers, Vines Gray and W. C. Gray, both of Cabot, and Wilton Gray of Quitman; a sister, Marvell Smith of Austin (Lonoke County); and five grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Union Valley Cemetery. Arrangements are by Westbrook Funeral Home of Beebe.
Mrs. Mary Richardson
Mrs. Mary Woodard Richardson, 75, of Russellville, mother of William Sherman Richardson of Conway, died Monday (Nov. 17, 1997) at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
Born in Russellville, daughter of the late Sylvia Vonia Bonds and John Woodard Jr., she was the widow of Willie Richardson. She was retired from the Russellville School District food service department and was a member of Central Christian Church.
Other survivors include three other sons, Clyde Richard Brown and Kenneth Ray Richardson, both of Fort Smith, and John M. Brown of Russellville; two daughters, Rita Richardson and D. Rachelle "Rockie" Richardson, both of Russellville; one granddaughter and one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Central Christian Church with the Rev. Thom Walker and the Rev. Robert Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Reed Cemetery by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Pallbearers will be Sherman Foster, Jerry Williamson, Tyrone Williamson, Jimmy Linzy, Jay Winters and Roger Pierce.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
