Letters: Leave airport where it is

After reading the article undermining our Cantrell Field Airport and moving it to Lollie Bottoms, I must respond.

A downtown airport is great value to the traveling public, with ready access to restaurants and motels. It will be just about the same traveling time between Conway and Lollie Bottoms as between Conway and Little Rock.

Recent large corporate aircraft using Cantrell Field have been: Falcon 50EX from Allstate Chicago, Grumman G3 from Toyota and Gulf States, Falcon 2000 from Alltel and Global Express. These are large an airplane as are normal for corporate use. Of course Cantrell Field can't handle 747s.

It is vital to retain our airport where it is.
