BCMS 7th-graders post strong showings

Bob Courtway Middle School's seventh-grade football team opened the season with two successful outings.

BCMS began with a 45-0 win over Cabot Red. Tyler Colquitt, Tyler Garrettson, Quentin Wyrick and Trevor Clay all scored touchdowns. Garrettson and Wyrick scored two each.

Joshua Taylor, Alex Reed, Dierra Ely-Reed, Cory Goss, Mickey Donald and Colby Rowlett had strong games offensively. Taylor, Goss, Colquitt, Donald and Justin Vinson had solid defensive games.

Saturday, BCMS participated in a jamboree in North Little Rock with Bryant, Pine Bluff and North Little Rock Lakewood.

In three halves of play, BCMS scored 22 points and only gave up 6. Wyrick, Colquitt, Derrick Baker, A.J. Beaverton, Sidney Moore, Darian Bivens, Anthony Menchaca, Goss, Donald, Devin Haynes, Christian Madrigal, Demarius Greer and Danny Thomas all had good scrimmages.
