Readers of the Log Cabin Democrat are getting a little more with their paper, starting today.

"Spry," a new health and wellness magazine that "celebrates the vitality in all of us," will be distributed with the newspaper during the second week of every month from now on.

According to the magazine's Web site, spryliving.com, the mission is "to share the joy, the power and the rewards of healthy living and help you make it happen."

"Each issue, we will inspire you through stories of women and men who define the word 'spry,' people who see life as a series of open doors and the future as full of opportunity," the Web site stated. "Plus, we'll share advice from them as well as top-notch experts in healthy living."

Flipping through the pages of today's issue, one can learn everything from how to stay ahead of skin cancer to halting headaches to the best way to walk off those pesky extra pounds.

Log Cabin readers will now have the opportunity to learn new ways to stay healthy body, mind and soul. Not to mention a few yummy meal and snack ideas to boost energy and attitude.

And "Spry" is more than just a fitness publication or a medical publication it's a publication designed to help the reader create, and stick to, an overall healthy lifestyle.

The magazine also highlights several other areas with regard to health. For instance, a reader can learn a bowl of lemons used to decorate a home may improve health and wellness, according to the ancient practice of Feng Shui, and how a simple massage turned a woman's career, and life, around.

You could also enter a "Spry" contest to compete for the grand prize of a spa vacation, including spa treatments, fitness classes and health consultations, just by explaining what the word "spry" means to you.

So upon reading your newspaper today, get to know "Spry," the newest publication offered to you by the Log Cabin Democrat.

You may just learn a new recipe or a great ab-busting exercise, but everything you take from the pages of "Spry" magazine will improve the overall health of you and your family.
