The four-time defending state champion Siloam Springs volleyball team had little trouble with Greenbrier in their 5A-West conference opener Thursday.
Siloam Springs won, 25-15, 25-13, 25-14. Greenbrier fell to 4-1 overall.
For Greenbrier, Jackie Barrett and Kalea Hogg each served a perfect seven of seven. Hogg added five kills. Chelsea Holley had three blocks; Rachel Mulkey and Kayla Waters each added two kills. Kaki Tapley handed out four assists; Waters added two.
"The girls worked hard tonight all the way around," Lady Panther coach Cindy Hartman said. "Siloam Springs had a very tough offense that we struggled with defensively. This was a great learning experience for us, and I definitely feel like we will be a better team from the experience of playing a team of such caliber."
Greenbrier took a game off Siloam in the JV match but fell 25-11, 20-25, 15-8 to drop to 2-1 overall.

For the Lady Panthers, Joy Vaillancourt served eight of eight with two blocks; Lauren Rose was perfect on eight serves with two aces and five digs; Gabrielle Rowden was seven of seven serving with two aces; Janessa Richards had two aces and two blocks. Jessica Eakin and Mackenzie Mallett each had three digs; Bree Hill and Summer Richard added two kills apiece.
