Elizabeth Gracey Clark of Conway and William Edward Scott III of Memphis, Tenn., were married June 2 at Greene Chapel on Hendrix College.
Robert Larimore Brewer, the groom's grandfather, of Memphis officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Michael W. Clark of Conway and the late Michael Wayne Clark.
The groom is the son of and William Edward Scott, Jr. of Memphis.
One large arrangement of white roses, white hydrangeas, white snap dragons, spider mums, lilies and greenery were at the alter along with four-floor candelabras draped in smilax. Down the center aisle were 12 candle-lit isle markers with a ring of white hydrangeas, roses, orchids and smilax around each one. Arrangements of white Virginia roses, hydrangeas, orchids and greenery hung on the chapel doors.
On top of the bride's book table was a ring of white hydrangeas, orchids, Virginia roses and greenery with a large hurricane and candle in the center. Emily Grace Smith presided at the bride's book.
Organist Stephen Cohen and soloist Brad Banister both of Conway provided the nuptial music.
A prelude of the bride's favorite hymns was followed by Banister singing "Ave Maria". The seating of the house party to "Canon in D". The seating of the grandmother and mothers to "Panis Angelicus" sung by Banister. The bridal party entered to "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring".
The bride entered the chapel to "Trumpet Tune" and met her grandfather Leonard Ray Clark of Heber Springs at the alter where he gave her away. The bride and groom knelt at the alter as Banister sang "The Lord's Prayer" and "Allegro Maestoso" served as the recessional.
The bride chose a silk satin strapless sheath with a chapel length train. The dress had an over lay of English cotton net which had appliqus of alencon lace adorned with pearls and crystals. She wore her mother's chapel-length veil which had the same appliqus of alencon lace and pearls.
The bride's jewelry included a double strand pearl bracelet with sapphire and diamond clasp, pearl and diamond earrings and a diamond necklace that was a wedding present from the groom.
A clutch bouquet of white peonies surrounded by lemon leaf was carried by the bride.
Sarah Marie Clark, the bride's sister, of Conway served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amy Kathryn Browning of Chicago, Amy Duncan Horn of Rogers, Kinney McCarthy Ferris of Tupelo, Miss., Rachel Ann Glotfelty of Atlanta, Ga., Whitney Scott Smith of Fayetteville, N.C. The bridesmaids wore a long gown of antique gold taffeta. The strapless dress featured a roushed top and sash that tied at the waist and trailed to the floor. Their clutch bouquets contained white Virginia roses, white hydrangeas and were surrounded with lemon leaf. Each attendant wore pearl earrings and a single strand pearl necklace, gifts from the bride.
The House Party was Elizabeth Huntley Carmichael of Birmingham, Ala., Susan Courtney Clark of Fayetteville, Rachel Hunnicutt Furgerson of Conway, Sarah Caitlyn Gracey of Nashville, Tenn., Abigail Joan Morrissey of Oxford, Miss., and Emily Grace Smith of Fayetteville.
William Edward Scott, Jr. of Memphis served as best man. Groomsmen were Davis Franklin Carpenter, Mark Allan Pera, Elliot Lee Pope, William Wesley Shelton, of Memphis and Jared Scott Smith of Fayetteville, N.C. The ushers were Esmond Llewellyn Arrindell, Jr., Mark William Dietrich, Jr., Conley Wayne Patton, Thomas Paul Pera, Jr., and Joshua Nicholas Winters all of Memphis and Jonathan Andrew Scruggs of
Marion, Peter Conway Roussell of Biringham, Ala. and Christopher Ryan Toms of Madison, Miss.
The mother of the bride wore a brown Tai-silk jacket with a long skirt. The mother of the groom wore a butter cream yellow tiered chiffon long dress. They carried small bouquets of Virginia roses and white hydrangeas with lemon leaf.
A reception followed at the Conway Country Club. The outside of the club was decorated with iron lanterns flanked by ferns. Arrangements of white Virginia roses and hydrangeas hung on the front doors of the Country Club. The foyer was decorated with iron candelabras and the foyer table was topped with an arrangement featuring white roses and hydrangeas. The bride's book table held a ring of flowers with a hurricane and candle. The main dining room was arranged with round tables, white floor length table cloths topped with tall silver candelabras containing arrangements of white flowers with greenery.
The Fireplace Room held the buffet table appointed with a large trumpet vase featuring a big floral arrangement of white flowers and greenery. Featured food at the reception was the large cheese and summer sausage tray from the Rendezvous in Memphis.
The four-tier wedding cake had white hydrangeas in between each layer and roses on the top of the cake. The groom's cake was a two-tier square cake of light and dark chocolate.
The patio area tables were topped with tea candle trees wrapped in ivy with magnolia leaves and white hydrangeas at the base.
The entertainment for the evening was provided by "The King Beeze's" from Memphis.
Following a honeymoon in Turks and Caicos, the couple will reside in Memphis.
The bride was entertained at several pre-nuptial parties.
An announcement cocktail party on April 14 was hosted at the home of Leo and Lynn Crafton of Conway. Co-host and hostesses were Debbie Cox, Hal and Judy Hunnicutt Bob and Lynnette Rook and Sam and DeeAnn Sneed.
On April 15, an announcement shower was held at the home of Vicki McCarron of Conway. Co-hostesses were Fran Bailey, Jane Bailey, Vicky Browning, Ginny Bell, Zannette Bell, Peggy Clark, Melanie Conner, Peggy Crowell, Sharon Davis, Patrice Duncan, Beckye Ezell, Beverley Freiley, Pam Glover, Adair Howell, Joann Huselton, Cathy Ketcheside, Laura Middlekauff, Shirley McCone, Sara Morgan, Pattie Murphy, Nancy Rhodes, Sandra Schrekenhofer and Pam Wren.
On June 1, a bridesmaid luncheon was held at the home of Pam McPherson. Co-hostesses were Julie Adkisson, Jean Churchill, Sarah Frost, Laura Gladwin, Brenda Hengel, Barbara Satterfield and Laurie Smith.
A brunch for the wedding party and relatives was held on the morning of the wedding at the home of Marilynn Nabholz. Co-hostesses were Janet Bartos, Susan Denys, Susan Farris, Debbie Gosnell, Cindy Kordsmeier, Linda Linn, Susan Salter,Patti Saucier, Jan Stone and Missye Tyler.
