A Faulkner County Sheriff's Office detective was seriously injured Monday while working on a case.
According to Sgt. Jack Pike, Jim Wooley, 60, was at a residence on Ranchette Road "following up on a case" when he went to sit in a chair on the porch. The chair collapsed and Wooley fell from the 5-foot-high porch.
The fall took place early Monday afternoon, and by that evening he was transferred to a Little Rock hospital, although Pike was not sure which one.
Wooley suffered facial injuries and broken ribs, with one of the ribs apparently damaging his aorta.
Wooley has been with the Sheriff's Office for 14 years and is the owner and operator of Wooley's Grocery and Feed in Enola, where he lives.
