A Faulkner County man died Wednesday after an accidental electrocution.
Lonnie Montgomery, 33, was found at about 11 a.m. lying outside his Skunk Hollow Road home clenching one end of a set of jumper cables.
The other end, authorities say, was attached to his home's electricity meter box.
Lt. Matt Rice of the Faulkner County Sheriff's Office said it appears that Montgomery had tampered with the meter box after Entergy had removed the meter loop due to non-payment, shutting off electricity to the home.
"He'd had his meter loop taken out because of bills not being paid, so he decided he was going to remove a plastic cover that Entergy had put there and somehow re-connect the electricity," Rice said.
Maj. Andy Shock of FCSO said it appears the man was attempting to adjust or remove the jumper cables when he was electrocuted.
Montgomery was transported by MEMS to Conway Regional, but efforts to revive him failed.
