Casey Throneberry Thurow honored at several parties

Casey Throneberry Thurow, recent bride of Brandon Thurow, has been honored at several showers. The couple was married Saturday (July 22, 2006) at Family Life Bible Church.

The Conway home of Susan Etters was the setting for a miscellaneous shower on May 25. Co-hostesses were Laura Nabholz, Leanne McClendon, Donna Gober, Francis Furlow, Kathy Etters, Wrettetta Austin and Elizabeth Hart, all of Conway, and Patsy Miller and Margaret Meredith, both of Greenbrier.

The table was covered with a white linen tablecloth and an arrangement of assorted greenery and burgundy Mary Asters with crystal and silver serving dishes.

Guests were served snacks of spinach dip, assorted raw vegetables with cream cheese dip, mini-individual cheesecakes, lemon squares, praline delights, chocolate chip cake, chocolate-covered strawberries, coffee and punch.

Individual gifts were given by the hostesses and the honoree received a corsage of white sweetheart roses.

Among the guests were grandmothers of the honoree, Deveryl Smith and Barbara Throneberry, both of Conway; Karen Throneberry of Conway, mother of the bride; Lorna Hefley of Rison, aunt of the bride; Carol Norman of Conway, aunt of the bride; and Megan Hefley of Rison, cousin of the bride.

Bob and Paula Wilson of Fairfield Bay hosted a picnic-style party on June 4. Co-hosts were Ray and Laura Nabholz of Conway and Tom and Pauline Elder of Houston (Perry County).

The cookout was held outdoors on the Wilsons' deck overlooking Greers Ferry Lake.

Guests were served smoked meats of salmon, pork chops and chicken with varied side items. Desserts included fudge-drizzled brownies, lemon squares, chocolate-covered strawberries and pastry puffs. Assorted beverages were also served.

The hostess gift was a pewter frame with a signature mat that all guests could sign as well as gifts.

The bride's parents, Dr. Bart and Karen Throneberry of Conway, were special guests.

John and Janice Robbins of Conway hosted a "time of blessings and desserts" for the couple on June 24.

Co-hosts were Ritchie and Adair Howell of Conway and Rick and Marcia Charton of Ulysses, Kan.

The centerpiece was placed in a pewter and crystal trumpet vase with a bouquet of lipstick roses and greenery. The tablecloth was of white linen and the serving dishes were pewter.

Refreshments included fruit and fruit dip, chocolate-covered strawberries, cheese ball and crackers, chocolate chip cheesecake, strawberry trifle and graham cracker delights and beverages of tea, coffee and lemonade.

The hostess gift was a basket of various assorted items including books, goblets, plates, a clock and a blanket along with the centerpiece.

Among special guests were grandparents of the bride, Dr. Fox and Deveryl Smith and Dr. Jimmy and Barbara Throneberry, all of Conway; parents of the bride, Dr. Bart and Karen Throneberry of Conway; aunt of the bride, Carol Norman of Conway; and parents of the groom, Michael and Jan Thurow of Fayetteville.

A miscellaneous shower was given June 29 at the Conway home of Glo Jensen. Co-hostesses were Gena Carter, Valerie Clayborn, Janet Crow, Pam Curry, Beckye Ezell and Becky Townsell, all of Conway.

The centerpiece was a crystal vase of fresh hydrangeas. Refreshments, served in silver dishes, included citrus punch, poundcake, fruit, assorted cakes and nuts.

Special guests included the bride's grandmothers and mother.

The Little Rock home of Jennifer McCarron was the setting for a lingerie shower July 1. Co-hostesses were Sara Beth Johnson, Brooke Ivy and Sidney Veach, all of Little Rock.

The serving table was decorated with pink roses in a crystal vase.

Refreshments included homemade strawberry cake, fresh fruit, spinach dip, hummus dip, homemade fudge, punch and candies.

The hostesses presented the honoree with lingerie.

Special guests were the bride's mother, Karen Throneberry, and maid of honor's mother, Vicki McCarron.

Ken and Carol Norman hosted a luau couples' shower July 8. Co-hosts were Jimmie and Lorna Hefley of Rison.

The setting included a tiki hut with lights, leis, sea shells and tropical flowers of varied colors.

Guests were served smoked meatballs, mini-kabobs, pinwheels and salsa, cheeseball and crackers, veggies and dip, fruits and dip, mini-key lime pies and strawberry fruit punch.

The hosts presented the couple with a patio table and chairs and a grill.

Special guests were immediate family and extended family members of the couple.

A miscellaneous shower was given July 11 in Fayetteville by Kris Driver. Co-hostesses were Marian Knaust and Jill Williams, both of Fayetteville.

The serving table was covered with a white linen cloth and a centerpiece of fresh lilies with a spring mix and candles.

Guests were served strawberry cake with the names of the couple on it, strawberries and fruit dip, spinach dip, veggies and dip, cheese and crackers and fruit mix.

The hostess gift was a tent and his and her fishing poles.

Special guests were Jan Thurow and Ryan Thurow, both of Fayetteville, mother and sister of the groom; and Karen Throneberry, Barbara Throneberry and Deveryl Smith, all of Conway, mother and grandmothers of the bride.
