Sara Stovall of the Razorback Young Marine unit in Conway recently returned home from Advanced Leadership School at Camp Pendleton USMC Base in San Diego CA.
The Young Marine Advanced Leadership School is an intensive two week long program that focuses on developing youth leaders. Young Marines from around the nation compete to be accepted to this school. Stovall graduated first in her class with an overall average of 92 percent in all areas of discipline.
Stovall was also awarded the Molly Marine Award for the highest physical fitness score for a female in her class having earned 485 points out of a 500 possible points. Due to her honors at Advance Leadership School Division Command, Douglas Champagne of New Orleans honored Stovall with a promotion to Young Marine Gunnery Sergeant. Stovall is now only one of a few female Young Marine Gunnery Sergeants with in Division Four of the National Young Marine program.
