Among reports recently generated by local law enforcement agencies:

1. Possession of a controlled substance at 4255 College Ave. (Jim Stone Elementary School). An officer observed two 15-year-old boys near the school's playground behaving suspiciously at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. When the officer approached, he noticed that a school doormat appeared to have been disturbed. Two baggies of suspected marijuana were found under the doormat, along with a digital scale. The boys said they had found the suspected drugs and the scale, which can be considered drug paraphernalia, inside what is described in the report as a "trash can-looking object" on the playground. Text messages found on one of the boys' cell phone indicated the two may have considered selling the suspected drugs. The two were cited with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance and released to the custody of parents/guardians.

2. Fleeing the scene of an accident at Oak Street and First Avenue. According to witness statements, the rider of a 1999 Kawasaki sportbike was riding erratically and "doing wheelies" while traveling east on Oak Street Tuesday morning. The motorcycle struck a white 2000 Ford Explorer in the rear passenger's-side door as the SUV turned left into the Kroger parking lot. Both the driver of the Explorer and the rider of the motorcycle fled the scene. A witness followed the Explorer to Dusty's, a gas station/convenience store, and advised the driver, Manuel Phillips of 1620 Middle Road, Conway, to return to the scene before calling authorities to report the vehicle's license plate number. Witnesses saw the rider of the motorcycle get into a white Cadillac with Arkansas license plate 776 EXC and leave the scene as well. Phillips was located at his address at Oak Grove Commons and arrested for leaving the scene of an accident. The motorcycle is registered to a Jamie L. Carley of 1519 South Blvd.

3. Criminal Mischief at 2300 Prince St. (Conway High School West). On June 1 it was discovered that someone used spray paint to vandalize a wall of the new multi-puropse gymnasium, the stadium press box's door and the Wampus Cat mascot.

4. Obstructing government operations at 813 Oak Street (Colony Shop parking lot). Nona Clem Schmidt, 40, told an officer a false date of birth. She was arrested for obstructing government operations and hot check warrants from Conway Police Department and Sherwood Police Department.

5. Disturbance at 2200 Meadowlake (The Ridge apartments). Officers responded to reports of several people fighting outside an apartment Monday at about midnight. Persons on the scene told officers that two involved in the fighting had gone into an apartment, saying that before officers arrived a woman had been thrown into the residence. At the apartment in question, officers found the door slightly ajar, identified themselves as police officers and told those inside that it was "OK to open the door" a report reads. Instead, the door was quickly shut and locked. After two attempts, the door was kicked open. Two subjects inside the apartment complied with orders to lie on the floor, but another had climbed out a window and fled. Rye Lee March, 22, 35 Talmaga St., Little Rock, was charged with obstructing government operations and the man who fled, Anthony Sliffe, 25, 8 Betty Lane, Conway, was charged with fleeing.
