Sherman H. Crass

Sherman H. Crass, 93, of Conway, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2009. He was born Saturday, Oct. 16, 1915, in Myrtle, Mo., to the late John M. and Ella (Sorrell) Crass.

Mr. Crass served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for the past 20 years.

 

He is survived by one son, Norman Crass and his wife Norma; daughter-in-law, Mary Nell Crass; son-in-law, Frank Panzrino; four grandchildren, Caroline and Gerritt Zwenstra, Shaun and Becky Crass, Charla and Scott Winter and Dawn and Lane Smith; 10 great-grandchildren; five stepdaughters, Rosielee and Tommy Couch, Lucille and Fred Hartsfield, Carolyn and Dave Ricker, Kathy and Ron Cate and Jean Prince; stepson, Fred and Linda Prince; 15 step-grandchildren; 28 step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Gary W. Crass; wives, Ruth (Dye) Crass and Lillian (Prince) Crass; two brothers, Hershel Crass and Ralph Crass; and one sister, Vea Sponsler.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Antioch Baptist Church in Conway with brothers Jason Aultman and Ed Stephenson officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.

Antioch Baptist Church deacons will serve as pallbearers.
