Intrusion
I don't hear scientific dispute that smoking can cause cancer, that gravitational acceleration is constant or that DNA contains four specific amino acids, because all are proven scientific facts.
Manmade global warming is not a proven scientific fact, and that is why there are thousands of reputable scientists who dispute it. It is a tragedy that those scientists are politically repressed. Politics should stay out of the science.
Now this administration and Congress is about to ram through a cap-and-trade bill that will most certainly have a major impact on our lives by increasing costs of energy in ways that you cannot imagine. If it has any type of carbon emission it could be on the table to be taxed. Do you enjoy soft drinks?
Your costs are going up; the economy will suffer; and national security will be weakened as a result, all in response to an unproven and as such politicized science.
Combine this with unprecedented government presence in the private sector, where auto manufacturing is bad enough, but health care could be disastrous.
Do you hear any healthy debate about how government sponsored health insurance will drive the private insurers out of business? These insurers must make a profit, for which they pay taxes, of course. They will compete with a government that does not have to make a profit, but can just print more money, exacerbating inflation. Think about it. The choices of which Obama speaks will cease to exist, which must be what he wants.
Free market capitalism made us the greatest civilization in history. It is being systematically dismantled by the party in power. All I can do is say I didn't vote for that party.
