HOT SPRINGS Savvy Shields, Miss Heart of the Ozarks Outstanding Teen, won the title of Miss Arkansas' Outstanding Teen 2009 Saturday night at Horner Hall in Hot Springs.
As a result, Shields won a $3,000 scholarship and more than $5,000 in awards, wardrobe, transportation and gifts. She will represent Arkansas at the 2009 Miss America's Outstanding Teen Pageant in Orlando, Fla., in August and will make appearances across the Natural State promoting the Children's Miracle Network and speaking in support of the goals of the Miss Arkansas' Outstanding Teen program and the Miss America system.
Shields, was crowned by the outgoing Miss Arkansas' Outstanding Teen, Sloane Roberts of Rison.
More than $15,000 in scholarships and prizes were awarded Saturday night to various contestants in decisions made by a panel of five out-of-state judges.
Shields is the 13-year-old daughter of Todd and Karen Shields of Fayetteville..
Earlier in the week, Shields won a preliminary evening gown award.

First runner-up Miss Central Arkansas' Outstanding Teen Kristen Kent
Second runner-up Miss Conway's Outstanding Teen Jordon FonVille
Third runner-up Miss Three River's Outstanding Teen Mollie Parker
Fourth runner-up Miss South Arkansas' Outstanding Teen Elizabeth Liberty
The five semi-finalists were: Miss Texarkana's Outstanding Teen Shannon Brewer, Miss Northeast Arkansas' Outstanding Teen Shaylee Lawhon, Miss Lights of the Delta Outstanding Teen Daley Johnston, Miss South Central's Outstanding Teen Jordan Benedict and Miss White River's Outstanding Teen Makenzie Moore.
Preliminary awards given earlier in the week were:
