Wes McNulty of Pine Bluff held on for a wire-to-wire win Sunday in the 94th Arkansas State Golf Association Stroke Play Championship at RidgePointe Country Club in Jonesboro.
McNulty became a three-time winner of the event, having also won in 1992 and '93 before trying the professional circuits. He made it difficult for anyone to catch him Sunday, carding 70-68-70208, eight-under-par for 54 holes.
Will Little of Jonesboro finished second at 72-73-66211.
Jason Cuthbertson, a University of Arkansas golfer from Conway, finished ninth at 71-71-74216. Rusty Ramsey of Conway tied for 26th with 78-74-76228. Two former University of Central Arkansas golfers placed among the top 11. Stan Lee, who won the United States Senior Amateur in September and the ASGA's Senior Match Play Championship earlier this month, tied for seventh at 74-69-72215; Kirk Brown of Mountain Home tied for Sunday's low round in finishing in a tie for 11th at 77-75-66218.
"I just didn't hit any good shots," Cuthbertson said. "I didn't play very good."
