Another great week has gone by. The weather has been perfect. Everyone's gardens are finally growing good. We had fresh green beans and new potatoes for dinner Monday night. They sure were good. We are looking forward to everything else.
The Robert's, Townsend's and Love families have been busy this past week with baseball games. Chase, Gavin and Scott all play for the tenth-grade Greenbrier Panthers. They are playing an extended High School Season with other schools. So far, their record is two wins and one loss as of Wednesday.
Irene Scroggins fell and sustained a broken hip at the Greenbrier Nursing Center this past Tuesday. She had surgery Tuesday afternoon at Conway Regional Medical Center. Please keep her in your prayers for a complete recovery.

Carol Frye also had emergency surgery Tuesday evening for appendicitis.
I did not have any help this week with the column. Surely, now that summer is here there is someone out there that is doing something that you can share with the community.

Our pastor, Bro. Mark Matthews gave a powerful message last Sunday. His text was taken from the second chapter of Acts. How 3,000 were filled with the Holy Spirit. He challenged us, were we filled with the Spirit? We aren't crowded with people at Oakland United Methodist Church but we love the Lord, and we have the Holy Spirit. Praise God!
Charles Earnhart and son Mark, visited Sunny Sue in the Earnhart home recently.
Our great-grandsons, Henry and Charles Sellers have been making us proud, wining in recent tournaments. The first was first place in the boys 6 and under championship at Greenbrier Batman's Brawl. They also won first place in the Vilonia 6 and under Classic. Way to go boys!
Tommy, Carolyn, Cara and Tara Collins of Vilonia visited Rosa Lee and Robert McElroy recently.
Bobi Hendrickson visits her uncle Floyd Stevenson at Greenbrier Nursing and Rehab regularly. She also visits Lucille Purifoy.
Hunter Mullins, one of the youth at Holland Baptist Church was baptized at the beginning of the worship service last Sunday. His dad, Kenneth Mullins, came moving his church membership afterward.
After worshiping in song, Bro. Ron Theis preached showing how we are like the "Man with the withered hand," who came to Jesus for healing. The man came to God with his problem and so can we.
At the invitation, Shannon Daniels came forward to join the church, moving her membership from Mount Vernon Baptist. Following the service, Bro. Ron grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for everyone at the Holland City Park.
Today, beginning at 7 a.m. there will be a yard sale at the Youth House. Proceeds will help fund scholarships to send kids to camp and make improvements to the youth house. About 10 men gathered last Saturday morning to clean the grounds at the house.
Carla Pearce White will be teaching at Westside Elementary in Greenbrier next year. Kelli McGaha will be the assistant principal at Wooster Elementary. Both of these jobs were answers to prayers.
We praise God for the way He works in the lives of His people.
