AGolf is no doubt very prevalent in central Arkansas, and many interested in the sport seek out instructors for help.
Arkansas Golf Center is hoping to draw people in that category, and the center is highlighting its four instructors as a draw tool for both amateur and professional golfers alike.
Jack O'Keefe, who played on the PGA Tour for many years, is on board as one of the instructors. He, like many of the center's teachers, has years and years of experience. O'Keefe is a former Arkansas Junior Player of the Year and three-time Amateur Player of the Year.
"Our instruction portion has really taken off," AGC head managing instructor Brandon Watson said. "This just a true golfing environment. People not only come and learn about the swing, but learn about all of the equipment that can get very confusing. We started with the idea to build this place to help people take the confusing out of golf."
Arkansas Golf Center also has the current head coach of the University of Central Arkansas' men's golf team, Ryke Dismuke, on the staff. Dismuke enjoys the many advantages of being able to train young golfers.

"I really only see the top players of the year, or some who are just below that, a little younger," Dismuke said. "(On Thursday) I (had) a session with a 12-year-old. Normally, I wouldn't get to see a 12-year-old. ... It's great because if a kid decides they want to go to UCA, then I've already been working with that kid for six years. So I'll know the strengths of his game so it does help."
The center's final instructor is the former head coach of the University of Arkansas-Little Rock Shane McClung. McClung expressed the many advantages of having qualified staff to cater to a golfer needs.
"We give you a mapped out plan of how you are going to get better, rather than trying this or trying that to make this better or make that better," Watson said. "We're going to help you understand the perimeters to help make you a better golfer. The whole purpose people play is to go out to have fun and relax, and not get frustrated. We can help take that frustration out."
