The Annual Homecoming at the 137-year-old church and cemetery at Cato in north Pulaski County and southern Faulkner County will be June 7. The address is 13915 Frenchman Mountain Road in Sherwood. Cato United Methodist Church has been closed since 1962 but once a year, on the first Sunday in June, those interested in the old church and community have the opportunity to hear a report on the cemetery at 10:30 a.m. followed by a worship service at 11 a.m. and a potluck dinner at 12:30 p.m. The Rev. Bill Haynie will speak at the worship service. He has family ties to the old community. Bill Henderson, chairman of the Cemetery Committee, and Roger Harrell, treasurer of the trustees, will give reports as well as Bill Burgin, trustees chairman. Tammy Harrell Fuller will be the pianist. The church and cemetery property are maintained by donations given at the Homecoming. Those who can't attend are asked to send their donation to Roger Harrell, 149 Cato Road, North Little Rock, AR 72120. SUBMITTED PHOTO
