Chapter E of PEO will meet at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday at Conway Country Club to celebrate the 75th anniversary of its founding.
Chapter E, which was the fifth chsapter in Arkansas, was organized Jan. 6, 1925, with 12 charter members, including Lyde Robins (Mrs. Frank E.) and Ellen Smith (Mrs. S.G.). Presently in Chapter E there are four members who are related to these two charter members. They are Mary Virginia Robins Ferguson, Dorothy Robins, Carolyn Smith and Cathy Smith Ketcheside.
Bonnie Bumpers is the current president of the chapter which now has 64 members.
PEO Sisterhood was founded in 1869 at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.
It is a philanthropic and educational organization, bringing to women increased opportunities for higher education through loans and grants.
