HENDRIX TRUSTEES DECIDE TO ADD FOOTBALL
After a 13-month study and debate, Hendrix College's board of trustees has decided to add football to the college's athletic program. Football was discontinued at Hendrix after the 1960 season because of costs. No timetable was set for football to be implemented, but trustees said the sport will only be implemented after start-up costs are raised from external sources. Trustees have also voted to add women's lacrosse with the same stipulation. Further details in Wednesday's editions of the Log Cabin Democrat.

Albright-Gooch

The marriage of Miss Jennifer Lynne Albright of Little Rock and Mr. Jeffrey William Gooch of Conway took place at 4 p.m. on Feb. 16 in the Conservatory Room at the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs. The Rev. Bill Ott presided over the ceremony with Catherine Reed who sang accompanied by her guitar.

Kristen Pottle of Little Rock served as maid of honor and Austin Beam of Conway acted as best man.

The Conservatory Room was decorated in ivory and black and illuminated with tea lights in all of the windows. The altar was flanked by pillars with crystal hurricane lamps. Mothers of the couple lit the candles flanking the unity candle to the song "Wonderful Tonight."

Deanna Albright of Little Rock, mother of the bride, wore a black and silver top with a black floor length skirt. Sally Gooch of Conway, mother of the groom, wore a black velvet off-the-shoulder top with a black floor length sequined skirt.

The bride's father, Barrett Albright of Little Rock, escorted his daughter down the aisle to the "Wedding March." The bride wore a floor length ivory wedding gown with an elbow length veil. Her bouquet was made of white lilies and roses with pink rose accents. She wore a floating pearl necklace, pearl bracelet and earrings chosen for her from China.

Her maid of honor wore a black halter dress and carried a bouquet of roses and lilies. She wore a string of pearls and drop earrings from China, a gift from the bride.

The groom wore a black tux with an ivory vest and tie and a white rose boutonniere. The bride's father and the best man wore black tuxes with black vests and ties and white rose boutonnieres. The best man wore a pair of gold monogrammed cuff links, a gift from the groom.

The couple lit their unity candle to the song of "When You Say Nothing at All." After the announcement of their marriage, they processed down the aisle to the song, "Top of the World."

The reception began with appetizers and spirits. Punch, made by the bride's grandmother, was also provided. Tables were decorated with black overlays monogrammed with the couple's names. Centerpieces of crystal rose bowls with white Ryan lilies, pink carnations and crystal pebbles sat on black and ivory tiles designed by the bride's grandmother surrounded by tea lights.

The blessing was given by the groom's brother, Donald Gooch.

Guests were served dinner and champagne. The wedding cake and groom's cake were served with chocolate-dipped strawberries. Toasts were given to the couple by the maid of honor, best man, father and grandfather of the bride.

The entry table featured a computerized photo display of the couple's favorite pictures designed by the bride's aunt and guests were asked to sign the wedding platter. The bride's aunt took pictures of the guests and all of the guests designed their own scrapbook page.

Also, on the table were monogrammed hankies, mints and bags of rice made by the bride's grandmother and sitting in her paternal great-grandmother's antique silver bowl.

Following the wedding, the couple honeymooned in the bridal suite which was decorated with flowers and special wedding gifts at the Crescent Hotel. They returned to their home in Little Rock where Jennifer works at the Pulaski County Licensing Bureau and Jeff is a teacher and a coach at Ridgeroad Middle School in North Little Rock.
