HENDRIX TRUSTEES DECIDE TO ADD FOOTBALL
After a 13-month study and debate, Hendrix College's board of trustees has decided to add football to the college's athletic program. Football was discontinued at Hendrix after the 1960 season because of costs. No timetable was set for football to be implemented, but trustees said the sport will only be implemented after start-up costs are raised from external sources. Trustees have also voted to add women's lacrosse with the same stipulation. Further details in Wednesday's editions of the Log Cabin Democrat.

Wilkinson-James

Fellowship Bible Church of Conway was the setting for the March 22 marriage of Megan Suzanne Wilkinson and Adam Matthew James. Pastor Jim Wilson officiated.

Parents of the bride are Mike and Susan Wilkinson of Conway. She is the granddaughter of Jean Wilkinson Spain and the late William J. Wilkinson of Conway, and William F. Bown and the late Jean H. Bown of Maumelle.

Parents of the groom are William and Mary James of Hot Springs. He is the grandson of Marie Patterson of Morrilton and the late L. Bernard James and the late J. Sue James of Hot Springs.

Piano music and singing was provided by Marvin and Pearlie Williams of Conway, featuring the song, "Parent's Prayer," by Steven Curtis Chapman and "Only God Could Love You More." As a surprise to their guests, the wedding party exited to "Oh Happy Day," an old traditional Christian gospel song.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a taffeta, a-line gown. The gown was ivory and had spaghetti straps and the neckline was semi-sweetheart. The bodice was rouched at the bust which was adorned with clear crystals and rhinestones. The gown was also rouched at the bride's waist for a couture look. The back of her gown came to a V at the center of her back which then began to roush all the way down to her chapel length train. Along the center of her skirt to where her train began, were clear crystals and rhinestones set in a feminine pattern.

She wore a French tulle, one layer, ivory, elbow length veil. Along the edge of the veil were clear crystals bugle beads which appeared to be floating along her shoulders. She carried a bouquet of eggplant callas, ivory roses and cymbidium orchids.

Jessica Flowers of Conway was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Natalie Wilkinson Rose, Beth Wilkinson Reed, sisters of the bride and Patty James, sister-in-law of the groom. The bridesmaids wore tea-length lavender gowns and carried gerbera daisies.

Flower girls were Ella Rose, niece of the bride, and Ivey Brooke James, niece of the groom. Ring bearers were Will Rose, nephew of the bride, and Barrett and Braden James, nephews of the groom.

Bill James, brother of the groom served as best man. Groomsmen were Ty Adams, Mike Land and Phillip Ames. Guests were seated by Reggie Rose, brother-in-law of the bride, Neal Reed, brother-in-law if the bride, Jason Ennis and Zac Harbert.

The scripture 1 John 4:16, was read by Julie Woodard, cousin of the bride. Guests were greeted by Abby Cantabery and Lindsay Dugger, cousin of the bride.

A reception followed the ceremony at Centennial Valley Country Club, which was decorated with candles, spider mums, roses and tea lights. Guests were served a variety of hors d'oeurves and Italian eggnog wedding cake, decorated with fresh flowers and slices of limes. Music was provided by Quinn Beachum.

The bride is a 2007 graduate of the University of Central Arkansas, where she was on the dean's list. She is a family and consumer science teacher at St. Joseph High School in Conway.

The groom is a 1999 graduate of the University of Arkansas and received his master in business in 2004 from UCA. He is a database consultant at Acxiom.

The couple lives in Conway, and will honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico during the summer.
