
   
UCA posts five top-10 finishes

HUNTSVILLE, Texas The University of Central Arkansas track and field teams recorded five top-10 finishes at the Southland Conference Outdoor Championships on Saturday.
The women's team notched three top-10 finishes, while the men grabbed two.
For the women, junior Lori Garside had the highest finish of the day, taking fourth in the high jump at 1.70 meters (5 foot-7).
Freshman Daliesha Taylor placed ninth in the 400 meters in 57.92 seconds. Junior Michelle Pitoniak finished ninth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in 12:00.36.
On the men's side, freshman Sohji Izumi broke his own school record and placed ninth in the javelin with a throw of 54.71 meters.
Senior Cameron Kinard was 10th in the 200 meters in a time of 21.60 seconds.
Torre Hunter finished 11th in the 110 meter hurdles in 18.63 seconds.
The championships will conclude today with the 5,000 meters, relays, pole vault and triple jump.
