Early voting for the Preferential Primary for the general judicial races began Monday.
Faulkner County Clerk Melinda Reynolds said that turnout for early voting has been pretty good so far.
"We've had 174 voters (at the courthouse) and the library's had about 150-160 or so," Reynolds said on Tuesday.
Voting sites are set up at the Faulkner County Courthouse and the Faulkner County Library. Residents can vote at the courthouse from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both Saturdays. Library voting times are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Both poll sites will be open until the afternoon of May 19, the day before regular voting for the preferential primary begins. On May 20 sites will be open from 7:30 a.m to 7:30 p.m.
"The Non-partisan ballot is just for the circuit judges who are running, but they are also on the Republican and Democratic ballot too," Reynolds said.
For Mayflower residents there will be vote on a 1 percent sales tax that would be applied to street and drainage improvements.
This election is open to all those who have already registered to vote in Faulkner County. For those who haven't yet registered to vote or those who need to update their voter information, Oct. 20 is the last day to register for November's general election.
To register, stop by the County Clerks office, the library or visit the county clerks Web site at www.faulknercounty.org/county_clerk.aspx for a link to download voter registration applications. You will need a photo ID such as a driver's license or state ID. Some may need to provide proof of residency, such as a utility bill, if their ID has a different address.
