A Mount Vernon man died Tuesday morning as a result of injuries suffered in a two-vehicle accident in Conway that also sent a Greenbrier woman to the hospital.

Jason Roy Browers, 28, driver of a 1993 Ford Escort, was southbound on Davis Street about 8 a.m. and Jeni Killough, 20, driver of a Chevrolet S-10 pickup, was westbound on College Avenue when the accident occurred.

Ms. Killough told police she saw a vehicle, the Escort, traveling south on Davis approaching the stop sign at the intersection and it did not appear it was going to stop, according to Lt. Bill Milburn.

Ms. Killough stated she tried to slow down but could not avoid the impact. She hit the Escort in the driver's side and her vehicle flipped on its side and back down on the tires.

Browers was transported by the Conway Emergency Response Team to Conway Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, Milburn said.

Ms. Killough was also transported by Conway ERT and was treated and released.

As required by law, blood samples were taken from both drivers and will be sent to the Arkansas Health Department for analysis, according to Milburn.

He said Ms. Killough was wearing her seat belt and officers believe Browers was, too.
