
   
Taylor to head East girls team

NORTH LITTLE ROCK Conway girls basketball coach Janet Taylor, who led the Lady Cats to the 7A state championship last season, has been selected to be the head coach of the girls East team for the Arkansas High School Coaches Association's all-star game June 19 in Fayetteville.
The head coach for the West girls will be Charles Berry of Huntsville and the head coach of the West boys will be Jason McMahan of Siloam Springs. The head coach of the East boys will be Tim Ezzi of Little Rock Catholic. Former Hendrix player Johnny Taylor who led Rose Bud to a state championship, will be on Ezzi's staff.
New University of Central Arkansas women's basketball coach Matt Daniel will be one of the speakers at the 2008 Arkansas High School Coaches Association Coaches Clinic at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Fayetteville, June 18-20.
Other clinic speakers will be: Football Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino, Arkansas defensive coordinator Willy Robinson, Arkansas offensive coordinator Paul Petrino, Missouri offensive coordinator Dave Christenson and Mike Gillhammer of the Carolina Panthers. Basketball Arkansas head men's coach John Pelphrey, Arkansas head women's coach Tom Collen, former Pepperdine coach Vance Wahlburg, Texas A&M head women's coach Gary Blair, Arkansas State head men's coach John Brady, University of Central Arkansas women's coach Matt Daniel. Softball Pat Murphy of Alabama and Ralph Weekly of Tennessee.
