Liz Vaughan went four for four with two runs scored on the day and tossed a complete-game to help Hendrix to a split of a softball doubleheader Saturday against Austin College at Warrior Field.

Hendrix won the first game, 4-1, but lost the second, 7-3, and won the series, 3-1.

The win in the opener marked a season-high eight-game winning streak for the Warriors, who are 18-15 overall and 9-7 in SCAC play. Austin dropped to 11-21 and 6-7.

Vaughan improved to 9-2 on the season with her 10th complete-game victory in the opener. She allowed just six hits, one run (earned), one walk and fanned three batters. Vaughan went two for two with a double and a run scored in the opener Ellen Burr was two for three with a double.

Christina Byler drove in all three of the Warriors' runs in the second game with one swing of the bat on a two-out homer over the center field fence. Vaughan and Jamie Sterrenberg both went two for three with a run scored in the second game, while Trace Grinnell went three for four.
