Rea places 14th at Nike meet

McKinley Rea, a Conway pole vaulter and University of Central Arkansas signee, came in fourth in her flight of 27 to finish 14th in the nation at the recent Nike Indoor Championship.

Rea followed up that performance by achieving a personal record of 12-3 at the Arkansas Vault Club Spring Break Open in Mount Ida over the weekend. She had a narrow miss at 12-9, hitting the bar with her chin on the way down. Her leap of 12-3 places her No. 5 on the state's all-time list.
