New Beginning Church

We felt a revival coming this past weekend. Our services were full of excitement, healing and lots of love and joy filled the church.
" I Am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending, saith the Lord, which is and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 1:8. This scripture was taken from the morning service that Pastor Bob preached.
Our evening service was preached by Bro. Kelvin Cunningham from Mark 10:46 and the title of his message was a " Holy Uprising." We all felt like we had been to church from the services we had Sunday.
Sis. Natasha Reed gave her testimony Sunday night and did a wonderful job. She is a single mother and student who loves the Lord and wants His will in her life and in everything she does.
New Beginning Church has cookbooks in, and if you are interested in purchasing one please call 679-5270. They look great and have easy recipes that were made for busy people. Many thanks go out to everyone who sent recipes, and helped with this cookbook.
Our church has been decorated for spring and Easter by David and Shirley Garrett. We want to let them know how we appreciate all their efforts on making the church look great.
We have a lady in our church who is not only our care shepherd but she also plays the spoons on Sunday night. If you have never heard the spoons played and would like to, we welcome you to come and hear Marie Barnes. She does a great job and everyone enjoys her playing.
Sunday after the evening service we will enjoy celebrating birthdays and anniversaries with ice cream and cake. Everyone is welcome.

Greetings in the matchless name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
"Searched and Known by God" was the title of the lesson for the adult Sunday school class. The text came from Psalm 139:1-3, 7-14, 23, 24.
Bro. Avery McCray stated that "you can't hide from God" and Sis. Mary Esau added, "God can see you all the time" as they represented the youth class in sharing what they learned from their lesson.
The youth took charge of praise services with Bro. Elijah Jones leading the congregation in "This Little Light of Mine" and Sis. Dominique Tolefree offering the morning prayer.
The youth choir rendered three songs that included "Jesus is Mine," "I Love You," and "I Want to Give My All to Jesus."
Pastor William Fort delivered the morning sermon entitled "Mercy Did It For Me" coming from Luke 15:21-25. We have to always remember that there is a difference between mercy and grace. Mercy is not getting what we deserve whereas grace is getting what we don't deserve.
Congratulations to Sis. Fanetta White and family on the birth of your son, Taurean Dylan White, born on Feb. 28.

Bethlehem hosted a baby shower last Sunday afternoon for Andy and Jessica Hall. They are expecting a boy next month and his name is Bayler Andrew.
The women's Bible study group resumed this past Wednesday night. The course is another Beth Moore series, "A Heart Like His" based on God's relationship with David. If you did not get registered, it is not too late to join in.
Bro. Cecil was the guest of honor at a reception Sunday evening following the services. The occasion was his 80th birthday.
I was away this past Sunday but heard through the grapevine that Bro. Dustin had the morning message and did a great job delivering God's word.

Still enjoying the afterglow of our revival, we had a great day of worship, Bible study, and fellowship Sunday.
The weather was cold and wet, but it was warm inside and we had a good attendance in spite of the last nip of winter. Everyone is certainly looking forward to the spring weather just around the corner.
On April 2, which happens to be the first day of daylight savings, we will celebrate the reaching of the Sunday school attendance goal we had set for March 12. Brother Kendrick had promised to preach from the rooftop if we made the goal, and is planning to do just that on April 2. Weather permitting, we will have at least part of the service outdoors that day, with the pastor going as far up a ladder as we can allow him for the sermon. It will be a fun day. Plan now to be present.
Vacation Bible school plans are being made. Dates are June 11-15. Sharon Burchfield is serving as director. As is always the case with BBC folks, when there is a need people step up to the plate. Most of the teaching and leadership positions were filled at the first planning session. We look forward to a great VBS.
The morning service last week included a time of prayer and affirmation for the Pastor Search Committee. Members include Mary Jo O'Bannon, Danny Stepp, Wanda Stanton, Dean Mallett, Dean Garrison, Will Bradford, and myself, chairman. The committee stood before the church and the entire congregation passed by to give each member a word of blessing. Then the pastor voiced a prayer for God's guidance. It was a memorable and moving experience.
Easter Lilies may be purchased for a minimum $10 donation to the Annie Armstrong Offering. You may designate your lily in memory of a loved one. They will be displayed on Easter Sunday. Any member of the BBC Women's Ministry can take your order.
John Dresbach, our beloved state convention music leader, as many of you know, has been in the hospital and very ill for some time. The latest news as I write this on Thursday morning is that he is improving, though some serious problems remain. Please mention him in your prayers. We enjoyed his musical ministry and the joyful entertainment he brought to us twice last year at BBC. With God's help he will recover and resume his ministry. We hope to have him return to BBC and delight us again with his music and humor.
It is also good to know that Logan Laymon is now home from the hospital. Logan had a very serious case of pneumonia and was in critical care for several days. We look forward to his complete recovery and to seeing him back in church.
