The Conway Optimist Club has announced the Optimist Teens of the Month for February.
Cody Hawkins, a senior at Mount Vernon-Enola High School, is the son of Jimmy and Katrina Hawkins.
He is the president of Future Farmers of America, the editor of the yearbook and a member of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America.
After graduation, he plans to attend Arkansas State University at Beebe and major in wildlife management or welding.
PJ Irish, a senior at Mount Vernon-Enola High School, is the daughter of French and Cindy Irish.
She is a member of Future Business leaders of America, the server administrator for the E.A.S.T. Lab and was treasurer of her class her junior year of high school and class secretary her senior and sophomore years in high school.
She serves as a volunteer for E.A.S.T. where she led in community service projects by assembling care packages for local service members and served on a clean up team and in the recycle program. She also serves as a volunteer for ACTS Jr. where she served as a student volunteer for the therapeutic program designed for disabled children.
After graduation she plans to attend the University of Central Arkansas and work toward a degree in occupational therapy.
