Judge Ed Clawson set bond at $35,000 on Tuesday for a 22-year-old man arrested Monday for dealing marijuana, who according to police said before his arrest "he had planned on dealing drugs on a small level until he got out of barber's college."

Deputy prosecutor Charles Finkenbinder had requested bond at $100,000 for Kerry Orlando Harris, who said at court Tuesday he has lived at Conway for about a year while attending New Tyler Barber College Inc., in North Little Rock.

Patrolman Casey Dunn of Conway Police Department wrote in a report that he noticed Harris near Sixth Street Tuesday night while Harris was behind the wheel of a white 1998 Ford Crown Victoria. "I had recently arrested him for possession with intent to deliver marijuana," Dunn said. "His driver's license was suspended the month earlier when I arrested him." Dunn said he found marijuana in Harris' car, and after a canine sniff at some apartments at 401 2nd St., officers found some marijuana, scales and a firearm where Harris had apparently been living.

Harris was arrested for controlled substance violation, drug paraphernalia possession, maintaining a drug premises, possession of a defaced firearm and simultaneous drug and firearm possession. Harris told Clawson on Tuesday that he is due to graduate school in North Little Rock on Feb. 28 and asked for a lower bond. Clawson said he thought a $100,000 bond would be unreasonable, but $35,000 wouldn't be.

Also at Faulkner County Circuit Court, probable cause has been found to charge six persons who appeared Tuesday:

Randall Paul Sledge, 21, Conway, 4000 block of Boone Loop aggravated assault, fleeing, driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a chemical test, misdemeanor controlled substance violation. Bond was denied upon the request of Finkenbinder, who told Clawson that Sledge tried to run over two local police officers in the incident that led to his arrest.

Division 3 revocation hearing was set for March 13.

Dedrick Deshawn Murray, 29, Little Rock, 18 Cactus Loop failure to appear on a theft by receiving charge. Bond was denied. Division 1 status hearing was set for Feb. 27.

Justin James Perrigo, 18, Conway, 1929 Hairston Ave. burglary, theft, criminal mischief. Bond was set at $10,000. Division 1 pretrial was set for March 27.
