Faulkner County Treasurer Regina Oakley of Vilonia is announcing she will be seeking a third term as county treasurer. She will be running in the Democratic primary.
Prior to being elected county treasurer, Oakley served 23 years as deputy treasurer for Faulkner County.
"I would like to thank the citizens of Faulkner County for allowing me to serve as their county treasurer and I am asking them for their continued support," she said.
"If elected as county treasurer, I intend to continue to provide the best and most efficient services to the citizens of Faulkner County. I will also continue to work closely with the state auditors and continue to upgrade the accounting procedures of the office in the manner required by law."
Oakley is a member of the Arkansas County Treasurer's Association and serves as the treasurer for the Nursing Home Gift Fund of Faulkner County, Inc.
She is the daughter of Hestel and Pat York of Vilonia and a granddaughter of Tressie Avra of Vilonia.
She and her husband, Steve, own and operate a cattle farm. They have two children, Heath, a student at the University of Central Arkansas, and Rachel, a student at Vilonia High School.
