We missed Pastor King and his wife, Peggy this past Sunday as they were traveling out of state. We thank God for His traveling mercies over them. It was a treat, as always, to hear Brother Jurl Mitchell preach in Brother Gaylon's stead.

After the choir sang, "At Calvary," Brother Mitchell shared with us one of the finest chapters in the bible; John 11. This was the story about Lazarus and his two sisters, Mary and Martha. Jesus loved this family and loved to spend time in their home. When Jesus was away preaching, a messenger was sent to tell Jesus that Lazarus was very ill and may die. It was an appeal to come save Lazarus from death.

In verses 5 and 6, it states that Jesus stayed where he was for two more days. In the meantime, Lazarus died but Jesus knew that his death was not the end and therefore, God would receive the glory. When Jesus made his way back to Bethany, Mary and Martha told Him if He would have been there, their brother wouldn't be dead. Jesus told Lazarus to come out and take off his grave clothes and Lazarus did as Jesus instructed. Don't we always seem to tell Jesus what we think he should do?

Our prayers should hold more faith than many appeals. He may not heal us of terminal illnesses or solve all our problems but He is there in the midst and He knows more than we do. In our time of waiting on God, there is a purpose and a meaning. Just because it doesn't make sense to us, doesn't mean it won't later. Don't miss your blessing because you gave up to early. One thing Brother Mitchell shared that personally resonated with me was that I can't bring my loved ones back but I can sure go to where they are one day. What a reassuring statement!

We want to welcome the Burroughs Family; Bill, Stephanie, Matthew, Andrew and Cameron. What a sweet blessing they have been to us and we're glad they have become a part of our church family. Our young ladies had their district GMA meeting at Antioch Baptist Church in Conway last Sunday. On Friday night, our young men had their District Galilean meeting at Bethlehem Baptist and what a time they had. Many activities are going on around the church and we continue to hear from AJ Wright and Kirby Coats concerning our new church building and the different phases of construction.

Be a part of our growing church as we study God's word in Sunday school starting at 10 a.m. and with morning worship/children's church following at 11 a.m. On Sunday evenings, our teen youth group meets at 5 p.m. with worship services at 6 p.m. respectively. We welcome you and hope you will visit with us soon!
