LITTLE ROCK -- In a game they expected to win easily, the Conway Lady Cats jumped on Little Rock Hall early to post a 39-17 victory Tuesday.
The AAAAA-Central victory keeps the Lady Cats (10-7, 4-0) on top of the conference going into Friday's game with North Little Rock at home.
"Hall is a scappy team that just can't score,'' said CHS coach Bill Clements, whose team won its sixth straight. "They have pretty good quickness.
"They tried to spread us out defensivley and be patience and that wa a good plan against us. They want to drive and draw fouls.''
After a 7-0 start, Conway led 11-2 after the first quarter and 25-7 at halftime.
Mary Elizabeth Caldwell led the Lady Cats with 15 points and Tanzetta Lasker added eight.
North Little Rock (10-5, 2-1) has already defeated CHS in a non-conference game.
"We were up on them 11 and they started pressing us and we lost by four,'' said Clements. "If we can win that we will be in real good shape,''
