Bryant shuts out Conway in semifinals

NORTH LITTLE ROCK — Bryant survived a bases-loaded jam in the first and scored two runs in the fifth on back-to-back doubles and an error in edging Conway, 2-0, Monday afternoon in the state 7A baseball semifinals.

The Hornets (32-2) advance  to the state finals for the fourth time in five years. The Wampus Cats ended the season at 18-9.

Zack Jackson (8-1) scattered four hits in the complete game for the Hornets and retired 16 of 17 batters at one point.
