Conway's Ashley Nance gets all-star position

St. Joseph's Chris Kordsmeier will also coach in summer event

Ashley Nance, who led the Conway girls to the 7A state championship this year, has been named head coach of the East All-Stars for the high school all-star game this summer in Conway.


Chris Kordsmeier of St. Joseph has been named as an assistant coach for the West girls, who will be headed by Brad Johnson of Farmington.

The announcement of the basketball staffs for the games on Thursday, June 26, at the Farris Center was made Wednesday by Calvin Mallett, president of the Arkansas High School Coaches Association.

Conway’s Jordan Danberry, a junior and the MVP of the 7A girls state tournament, will serve as manager for the East.

Vilonia’s Audrey Moran was named to the West girls team and the Eagles’ Cameron Wilkins was named to the West boys team.

Joining Nance of the East girls staff are Matt Dean of Rector, Dell Leonard of Mountain Home and Jared Richey of Brookland.

Johnson and Kordsmeier of the West girls staff will be joined by Mike Jackson of Acorn and Toby Tevebaugh of Paris.

Wes Swift of Jonesboro will be the head coach of the East boys, joined by Keith Cornett of Concord, Dwight Lofton of Forrest City and Lee Wimberley of Manila.

Tony Davis of Clarksville will be the boys head coach of the West team. He will be joined by Dwaine Fishburn of Benton, Scott Kelton of Blevins and Tom Olsen of Rogers Heritage.
