The Sideline: Conway golf; LR Touchdown Club

CABOT ­— Conway prevailed in both the boys and girls divisions Wednesday in a nine-hole, dual golf match against Cabot at the Mountain Springs Course at Greystone Country Club.

Chase Netherton fired a 37 for Conway’s frist team as the Wampus Cats had a 167 total to defeat the Panthers by six strokes. Tanner Bezet and Parker Rice each came in a 39. Lincon Hill fired a 40 and Carson Roberts a 41.

Conway’s second team, led by Austin Smith’s 38, came in at 169. Other scores were: Austin Tate, 40; Kyler Sanson, 44; Josh Walker, 47; and J.P. Wade, 48.

Logan Tolliver had the low round for the CHS girls, who combined for a 195 to 213 for Cabot’s first team. Tristan Jenkins came in at 48, followed by Alexis McDaniel, 50; Morgan Clark, 52; and Emily Lock, 53,

Allison Ellen fired a 51 for the other team by the Conway girls. She was followed by Meghan Smith, 56; Savannah Brown, 59; and Brynn Lea, 63.

University of Central Arkansas coach Clint Conque will be the featured speaker at the Little Rock Touchdown Club luncheon Nov. 5.

The club released its lineup of speakers Thursday. Each event begins at 11 a.m. at the Embassy Suites in Little Rock.
