Paragould again ends Vilonia's season

ALMA — For the third straight season, Paragould ended the season for the Vilonia Lady Eagles short of the state 5A title game.

The Lady Rams (22-5) overcame and 23-19 halftime deficit on the and snapped a 14-game winning streak by the Lady Eagles (27-6) with a 40-35 victory Tuesday in the 5A semifinals.

Paragould will play either Hot Springs or Huntsville for the state title this weekend in Hot Springs.

Ashley Hightower had 11 points and Sydney Wader nine for Vilonia, which got into serious foul trouble the second half.

Sydney Layrock had 20 for Paragould.
