Vilonia’s senior girls wrapped up the 5A-West title and won their 11th straight game Friday night with a 53-43 victory over Alma on the road.
Andrey Moran scored 13 points for the Lady Eagles.
At Little Rock, Episcopal Collegiate unleashed a balanced scoring onslaught on the way to a 70-46 victory over Mayflower in the boys title game of the 3A-5 district tournament.
The Wildcats’ William Pollock hit five 3-pointers in the fourth quarter as Episcopal outscored Mayflower, 23-10, to pull away. Mahlon Martin had 20 points and Kelvin Robinson had 18 for Episcopal (21-3).
Mayflower (21-6) was 18 of 51 from the field. J.P. Perry scored nine points for Mayflower in the first quarter before getting into foul trouble. Hayden Long added 10 points and Justin Bailey had eight points and 10 rebounds.
Mayflower will play Barton on Thursday in the regional tournament at Benton Harmony Grove.
FORT SMITH — Conway’s Lady Cats (21-5, 9-3) remained a game back of Fort Smith Northside in the 7A/6A Central standings and snapped a five-game winning streak by Fort Smith Southside in a 64-59 victory here.
Jordan Danberry and Christin Rogers each scored 14 points for Conway. Alexis Tolefree added 12.
Conway outscored the Lady Rebels (16-6, 8-4) by 37-24 in the middle two quarters then staved off a late run.
In the boys game, the Wampus Cats used the scoring power of A.J. Burton on the way to a 63-55 victory over the Rebels (4-19, 1-11).
Burton scored 10 points in the the third quarter on the way to 21 points for the Cats (13-9, 5-7).
John Nekonchuck added 11 points and nine rebounds. James Grubbs had nine points and six rebounds. Jalen Jones had six points and four assists.
Conway teams host Little Rock Catholic/Mount St. Mary on Tuesday.
Both St. Joseph’s girls and boys reached Saturday night’s finals of the 2A-4 district tournament with victories in semifinal games Friday night.
The Lady Bulldogs defeated Quitman, 43-30. The Bulldogs downed Bigelow, 52-41.
In other semifinal games, Hector’s girls downed Conway Christian, 50-37, and Hector’s boys defeated Western Yell County, 52-41.
SPRINGFIELD — Kory Westerman scored 21 points as Greenbrier’s girls ran their 5A-West record to 7-5 Friday night with a 59-37 victory over Shiloh Christian.
Ali Skudlark added 14 points and Kenzie Batterton 11 for the Lady Panthers.
