St. Joseph’s girls hit 18 of 19 free throws last weekend in a 51-49 victory over Sacred Heart in a game at Morrilton.
Anna Mayor had 18 points and six rebounds. Madeline Moix had 14 points. Taylor Womack added eight points and five rebounds. Rachel Briggler had four points, seven rebounds and five assists.
“It was good to see us execute late in the game in a tough place to play,” said St. Joseph coach Chris Kordsmeier. “We had good effort and did a great job at the free-throw line.”
The Rebels won the boys game, 43-37.
Landon Enderlin had 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Dylan Schrekenhofer had nine points and five rebounds. William Fields had eight points.
“Give Sacred Heart credit, but we were out of sync on both ends all night,” said coach Brent Bruich. “I was extremely disappointed in our effort, particularly on the defensive end. We didn’t have the desire to play as we needed on that end. There were not a lot of positives to take from this one. We will have to regroup, go back to work and get better.”
