Two Faulkner County teams (Conway and Conway Christian) applied the mercy rule and two (Vilonia and Mayflower) had it applied to them in Friday night’s football action.
The stunner was the 37-7 thumping Conway applied to Fort Smith Southside in what was supposed to be a major 7A/6A showdown.
When a team builds a 35-point lead by the second half, the mercy rule, which means a continously running clock, is applied.
