Last week, only one of five Faulkner County football teams won.
Friday, in the conference openers for everyone, everybody won — some going away.
CONWAY 38 RUSSELLVILLE 24

VILONIA 32 HARRISON 29
At Harrison, the Goblins were the ones haunted.
Vilonia quarterback Jared Willis connected with Tripp Reed on a screen pass with 1:38 left to give the Eagles an amazing come-from-behind, 32-29 victory over Harrison in their 5A West opener.
The Goblins hit some big pass plays against a sophomore-laden Vilonia lineup, battered because of an assortment of injuries, to overcome a 26-7 deficit to take a 29-26 lead with 4:51 left. Then, sophomore Shane Steward picked up a fumble and returned to the Harrison 26. Willis connected with Reed for the touchdown.
The Eagles (1-3), reverting back to their double-wing attack, built a 19-7 lead in the first half on a TD run by Drew Estes and a pass from Willis to Kent Madden. They increased the lead to 26-7 early in the third quarter on a run by Estes.
