Hendrix’s Radack on academic A-A team

Hendrix College senior centerfielder Collin Radack was named to the Capital One College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-America Second Team on Wednesday.

Radack, from Austin, Texas, is the first Academic All-America selection and All-American pick in program history. He was selected to the ABCA/Rawlings All-American Second Team and Gold Glove Team and the All-America Third Team last week.

Radack was the Southern Athletic Association Player of the Year and All-SAA First Team selection. He was also a & ABCA/Rawlings All-West First Team pick. He ranked fourth in the NCAA in hits, third in stolen bases, 11th in runs scored and 30th in total bases. On the year, Radack hit .401 with 73 hits, 53 runs, 10 doubles, four triples, three home runs, 23 RBI, 34 stolen bases, a .549 slugging percentage, .471 on-base percentage, and a perfect fielding percentage in 158 chances.

Basketball camps at Hendrix

Hendrix College will hold four basketball camps this summer for boys and girls in June.

The camps will be conducted at the Hendrix Wellness and Athletics Center by Thad McCracken, head boys basketball coach.

Session 1 Day Camp: June 16-19

Boys and Girls 4th-9th grade, $99

Session 2 Day Camp: July 28-31

Boys and Girls 4th-9th grade, $99

Lil’ Warrior Camp: June 23-24

Boys and Girls K-3rd grade, $59

Shooting Camp: June 25-26

Boys and Girls 4th-12th grade, $59

Greenbrier athlete gets Special Olympics award

Isaiah Leonard of Greenbrier, representing South Side of Bee Branch school district, won two medals in the recent state Special Olympics in Searcy.

He won gold in the softball throw and also brought home silver in the standing long jump. It is his second year to participate in Special Olympics.
