The Sideline: Krug sets record; Arkansas Sports Club meeting

KENOSHA, Wisc. — Hendrix College senior Elizabeth Krug broke her school record in the indoor 200-meter dash with a time of 26.17 seconds at the Carthage Gill Athletics Final Qualifier on Friday.

 

Krug, from Heber Springs, placed fourth in the sprint. She also finished 10th in the shot put with a throw of 11.36 meters (37 ft.-3.25 in.).

Krug and freshman Victoria Amadi will compete at the NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships in Lincoln, Neb. on Mar. 14-15. Krug will particpate in the pentathlon and Amadi will be in the triple jump.

CBC official to speak at Sports Club

Ryan Johnson, vice president for enrollment management at Central Baptist College and a former coach at Lyon College and the University of Central Arkansas, will be the guest speaker at Monday’s month luncheon of the Arkansas Sports Club at the Golden Corral.

Lunch, free to all interested, will begin at 11:30 a.m. The program will begin at 12:05 p.m.

Also during the meeting, plans will be announced for the celebration of the 100th Sports Club luncheon, which will be Monday, April 14, at Centennial Valley Special Events Center.

Trojans slip past UCA in OT
