The Sideline: Hendrix's Ben Cunningham gets national honor; Vilonia wins volleyball tournament

Ben Cunningham, a freshman linebacker for Hendrix College, was selected to the D3Football.com National Team of the Week on Wednesday for his performance in Saturday’s 46-44 win over Westminster College — the first game for the Warriors in 53 years.

The Shreveport, La., native registered 10 tackles, two for a loss, and sack that caused a fumble, which he recovered. The fumble recovery set up a Hendrix touchdown in the first quarter.

Cunningham and the Warriors will open Southern Athletic Association play at Birmingham-Southern College in Alabama on Saturday.
