Hendrix College women’s basketball players Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler and Jamie Tate have been honored with postseason awards by the Southern Athletic Association.
Kriesel-Bigler, a freshman guard from Austin, Texas, was named the Newcomer of the Year and was an All-SAA Honorable Mention. Tate, a junior center from Nashville, Tenn., earned All-SAA First Team honors.
Kriesel-Bigler ranked seventh in the league with 11.5 points per game and was third with 4.0 assists (109 total). She was also second in the SAA with 62 three-pointers and had 36 steals.
Tate led the conference and was 14th in the NCAA with 11.8 rebounds per game. She also led the Warriors with 13.1 points per contest (fourth in the SAA) and was sixth in the league with 44 steals.
On the men’s side, Junior forward Colton Primm was named to the first team, while senior guard Jaren Riley was selected as an honorable mention.
Primm, from Fayetteville, ranked third in the SAA and 38th in the NCAA with a 56.8 field goal percentage. He led the Warriors and was fifth in the SAA in scoring with 13.4 points per game and he was second in the conference with 8.1 rebounds per contest. Primm also ranked third in the league with 1.1 blocks per game.
Riley, of Claremore, Okla, led the SAA with a 92.3 free-throw percentage. He also ranked sixth in the league in scoring at 13.2 points per game, to go with 56 three-pointers made, 54 assists and 26 steals. Riley was also named the SAA All-Tournament Team.
