University of Central Arkansas footbaall coach Clint Conque told his supporters Monday that the week with an open playing date will not be a week of vacation.
“There will be lots of self-analysis,” said Conque after the Bears broke a two-game losing streak with a 17-13 victory over Missouri State on Saturday. “It’s what we are doing well, what we are doing no so well, what should be doing different and who we do it with.
“The open week comes at a great time. It can be a sign of reflection, a time to get healed and for player development with our young players.”
The Bears (2-2) have completed a string of three straight road games to three states. They return home Oct. 5 for their Southland Conference opener against McNeese State. Five of UCA’s next eight games are at home.
