Bears break losing streak with nonconference win over SIU-Edwardsville

The University of Central Arkansas Bears snapped a five-game losing streak with a come-from-behind, 80-78 victory over SIU-Edwardsville in a Bracketbusters basketball game Saturday at the Farris Center.

LaQuentin Miles, who led the Bears with 20 points, sparked the late comeback after the Bears trailed almost the entire first half. Robert Crawford added 18 points for the Bears (10-16). Jarvis Garner hit a free throw with 3.5 seconds left to seal the win.

SIU-Edwardsville of the Ohio Valley Conference, fell to 9-16.

The Bears resume Southland Conference play Thursday at Lamar.
