Hendrix’s Krug Track Athlete of Week
Hendix College senior Elizabeth Krug has been named the Southern Athletic Association Women’s Track Athlete of the Week.
One week after winning the conference’s Field Athlete of the Week award, the Heber Springsnative won the 400 meters at the Harding Invitational on Saturday in a time of 58.72 seconds. The mark leads the SAA and is 16th in the nation. Krug also anchored the 4x100 relay team that broke the school record for the second week in a row with a time of 50.65 seconds.
UCA women tie for 2nd in golf tourney
SUGAR LAND, Texas — The University of Central Arkansas women’s golf team had the second-best score in Tuesday’s third round and finished tied for second among 13 teams at the Houston Baptist Husky Invitational at River Bend Country Club.
UCA shot rounds of 313-306-306 for a 922 total and tied with Louisiana-Monroe, trailing only Lamar (915). Junior Kendra Mann shot 77-72-77-226 to tie for third place overall. Junior Malin Senneryd tied for ninth (83-73-74-230) while senior Carly Dear tied for 22nd (85-80-72-237). Sophomore Sarah Brown tied for 29th (73-81-86) and sophomore Frida Svensson tied for 32nd (80-81-80_241). Morgan Best, playing as an individual, shot 76-78-80-234) and tied for 15th.
After Lamar, UCA and Louisiana-Monroe was Houston Baptist (932), Stephen F. Austin (945), Oklahoma City (954), Sam Houston State (957), Incarnate Word (958), McLennan CC (985), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (993), New Orleans (1,001), Texas-Pan American (1,003) and North Dakota (1,018).
