Bears salvage third game of SFA baseball series

NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Two former Conway Wampus Cats played a big role Sunday in the University of Central Arkansas salvaging the third game of a three-game series against Stephen F. Austin.

Tyler Langley doubled in two runs in the decisive eighth for the Bears (14-11, 5-4). Connor McClain threw six innings in gaining the victory, allowing seven hits and striking out four.  Senior Bryce Biggerstaff came back from injury to throw the final three scoreless innings for the save.


Doug Votolato finished 3 for 4, while Nate Ferrell was 3 for 5 with two RBI as UCA outhit Stephen F. Austin 12-9.

UCA returns home for a four-game homestand, beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday against UALR at Bear Stadium. Southeastern Louisiana comes to Conway for a three-game SLC series this weekend.
